One doesn't have to indulge in one of those frightful little burgers to be able to eat on the move in Notting Hill. I, for one, find the concept blasphemous and have always been unnerved by the image of Ronald MacDonald. Call me old fashioned but his smiling face and waving hand does nothing to tempt my taste buds.
And so, being the gentleman that I am, I'll whisper a secret into your ear so you can avoid those monstrosities in a bun: Fresco.
Fresco, found at 25 Westbourne Grove, has a roaring lunchtime trade and is a kind of colourfully thin diner one can eat in or take away. I have a particular weakness for the falafel wraps, which are heated and served up with creamy hummus and a healthy dollop of salad, a truly wonderful snack at £3.25. They also have a magnificent array Lebanese meze and can juice just about anything one has their thirst set on.
