There are times in my life when I become terribly nostalgic for Thailand. My mind reels back to when I was first there, many years ago, as a wide-eyed young man with sawdust for sense. I can still close my eyes now and smell Thai cooking wafting all about me. I then become weak at the knees and my stomach snarls like a fiend. To taste the Thailand yesteryear I do not fly directly to Bangkok, but instead I casually stroll on down to 16 Chepstow Road where there is a Thai delicatessen. Here, I am able purchase cook-it-yourself delicatessen packs (with ingredients that have already been prepared) or, if time is a factor (as it always is in my life), I will order one of many ready-cooked meals that they have on offer. These can range from Phad Thai to curries to Tom Yum soup, all of which are reasonably priced for a quick London lunch.
